The Therapeutic Scalp and Laser Clinic in association with Hair Restoration Specialists is currently performing Stem Cell Regrowth Therapy through Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) in Atlanta.
Hair Restoration Specialists also offers Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) in conjunction with Laser Therapy for hair loss. Hair Restoration Specialists encourages anyone with hair loss concerns to learn more about Platelet Rich Plasma and Stem Cell Regrowth Therapy. In recent clinical studies it has been proven to generate new hair growth and thicken existing hair as the combination of PRP and ACell release healing proteins called growth factors.
Platelet rich plasma is a new procedure of hair rejuvenation where there is bio stimulation of the stem cells of the dermis using an injection technique which uses the patient’s platelet rich plasma (PRP) which is extracted from your own blood.
PRP is a biological therapy. Prepared plasma is richer in platelets than normal blood. The plasma contain growth factors which have significant positive effects on hair growth. The platelet growth factors induce follicle stem cells to shift from a dormant state to an active state which starts the process of hair production. The platelet growth factors can “wake up” dormant hair follicles and begin the production of new hair. So this therapy gives strength to the existing hair, reduces hair loss and is likely to increase the actual number and quality of hairs by stimulating the stem cells.
Both male & female patients with thinning but not completely bald areas are the best candidates. Earlier treatment is better and may postpone or reduce the need for surgical hair transplants. Patients with surgical hair transplants can also benefit from PRP, yielding increased graft survival, improved donor scare healing, faster recovery and improved hair growth.
Completed in about 90 minutes, the PRP contains the concentrated growth factors and protein to super charge and stimulate hair follicle stem cells and initiate improved hair growth.
This varies among individuals. Generally you can start seeing a benefit in three to six months. The maximum benefit is seen at twelve months. Improved hair appearance may last two to three years but then there will be a gradual return of the hair to its baseline without continued PRP therapy. This is why we suggest a series of three treatments (one every four months) to initiate the new hair growth, after the initial growth period dependant on the cause of hair loss. The benefits for hair growth may be prolonged with supplements of prescription medications.
