Transplanted hair may initially fall out within the first few weeks, but that is a normal part of the process called “shock loss.” Permanent growth begins immediately after this initial shock loss and is noticeable with a few weeks and continues for the remainder of the patient’s lifetime. Full hair regrowth is apparent after about six to 12 months.
